DAY 64 - The house is complete!!!!!! sort of...

We'll call the house completed. But were still waiting for a change of granite.

We have completely moved in and now are Washington Fields residents.

DAY 59 - We moved our storage unit stuff in today.

DAY 59 - May 21, 2010
We're at DAY 59 and Salisbury Homes still hasn't completed everything.
The Punch list still has not been complete,
and we found that our Master Bathroom door doesn't have the
Privacy lock that we order.

We moved our storage unit stuff in today into the new house.
Our friends the Dye's and Dave Mortensen helped us move in.
Thanks for your help!!!
Christopher and Emily came and Chris has been build the
beds and various things.

Our new refrigerator was delivered last night.

DAY 57 - Almost done, minor touch-ups left.

Day 57 - May 19, 2010
We have just a few minor touch-ups left to do. All major fixes have been made. Some of our grass had replaced, mainly the edges that had burned up.

Day 56 - The Major fixes are under way and we released the funding and now have the keys.

We now have the keys to the house with still some items left on the punch list.
The lawn isn't recovering

The shower floor was replaced, water wasn't going all down the drain.

Damaged edge replaced

Damage tub corner repaired, can't even tell it was cracked.

DAY 55 - We Closed late this afternoon, but withholding funds until the punch list is complete.

DAY 55 - May 17, 2010
We closed on the house today, with 5 things left to complete on the punch list.
We are withholding funding until the punch list is completed. We've been promised that by noon tomorrow everything will be done.
Except Granite!!! That's a whole other story.
We are home owners again, back in debt.

Michelle got her front door today. :)

The door was painted correctly this time and had no problems.

The back yard was grated and is now ready, as well as the final blinds were hung.

DAY 50 - Our interest rate lock expired today, lucky us we got a new lower rate.

Our Interest rate lock expired today, we were very lucky the rates have been going down over the last week and we got a new lower rate lock. We have been working with a great mortgage company and they have been taking good care of us. If you ever need a Mortgage or Refinance, contact Ben McAffee @ First Colony Mortgage he has been awesome.
A lot has been accomplished today on our punch list, I did have to turn the master water line on myself since my new yard was burning up. It needed water bad.

The grass and landscaping were burning up.

The third car garage door lock was installed, we're not going to have a door opener for that door.

DAY 49 - Not closing today, nothing has changed since yesterday.

Nothing happened today, my loan rate lock expires tomorrow, so we'll have to see what happens tomorrow. I doubt we'll close until Friday. A lot still must be done.

DAY 48 - We still haven't closed with Salisbury Homes

The house is still not ready for closing, so much for the 45 Day promise.
And to top it all off, someone turned the master water line off to the house last weekend, so the new landscaping has been burning up. NOT Happy!
The kitchen looks great, no change on the granite.

We will not be closing today, still a lot of punch items to fix.
And I'm being very picky.
I guess I'll put off being a home owner again until next week.

The Front door saga still continues, someone doesn't want Michelle to have the door she wants.
As you can see there are indentations in the door sidewall, as-well-as a break were tongue and side plate go. This must get fixed, or someone could just use a screwdriver to break through the door.

The roof is lookin good and Brown. :) Still waiting for Rain gutters.

Michelle got the range top she wanted.

The Master tub has some damage that needs to be repaired.

DAY 44 - Roof tile was being completed, plumbing seemed to be finished and cleaners were in the house cleaning

The roof was being completed today
The front yard will be very low maintenance

Plumbing was done today, the Master tub looks great.

Kitchen (I see the granite stains from here)

Hose bibs and toilets were installed.

And the Front door saga continues, we got the correct front door back yesterday and the painter came and painted it. The only problem was they painted the inside half of the door, the color of our walls not the trim color like every other door in the house. They'll have to come back and try again tomorrow.

DAY 43 - Three days left, will Salisbury Homes make the 45 day promise?

DAY 43 - May 5, 2010
Will Salisbury make the 45 day promise? We did a walk through with our Realtor John Houston, and we ended up with about a 15 item punch list that needs to be completed before closing. Waiting for the plumber.
The roof still needs ridge tiles, and the backyard needs to be graded out and smoothed over. The Landscaping look great.

We're still waiting to hear what becomes of our request to change the granite.

We got our appliances today, Dishwasher, Microwave and the wrong stove/oven. We are suppose to be getting an upgraded coil top range. (Michelle prefers the coil top range)

We have carpet.

Upgraded carpet pad, with the best carpet Salisbury offered.

The granite has two orange stain looking spots on the slabs

They look as if you spilled something that would come out.

We are not happy with this stained orange look, when the rest of the top is predominately yellow
